When we took possession of the property one of the key things missing in the garden was a compost heap. With lots of clearing to do and much of the property in need of some re-vitalisation the priority before we even moved in was to get the composting going.
| The first compost heaps were constructed from old pallets and corrugated sheets which were lying around |
However these soon filled up ...
| ... and also looked pretty untidy |
| So construction began on something a bit more permanent. |
| A neighbour was replacing his deck and so I managed to get hold of the old boards |
| Slowly things began to take shape |
| The first two bays were put to good use immediately, whilst construction continued. Note the use of neighbours decking boards |
| Project complete! A total of eight bays, you can never have too much compost! |
